BARROW2026 DAILY REVIEW - Friday, 17th July, 2026

One example is the launch of The Gambia’s National Social Protection Policy 2026–2035. Unveiled by Vice President Muhammed B.S. Jallow, the policy is designed to strengthen support for vulnerable families, improve coordination of social programmes, and ensure that those who need help the most are not left behind.
This is about turning government policy into real support for ordinary Gambians.
At State House, President Adama Barrow presided over the swearing-in of newly appointed Cabinet Ministers. He reminded them that public office is about service, responsibility, and delivering results for the Gambian people. The message was clear: every minister is expected to work hard, remain accountable, and help move the country forward.
Meanwhile, farmers are already seeing the impact of government support in the agricultural sector. Beneficiaries of the tractor support programme in the North Bank Region say they are preparing their fields more quickly and efficiently for this year’s farming season. Better access to machinery means more land can be cultivated, helping farmers increase production and strengthen food security.
The message from these developments is clear.
Progress is measured not only by promises, but by results. Whether through stronger social protection, accountable leadership, or practical support for farmers, the Barrow administration says its focus remains on improving the lives of Gambians and building a stronger future for the country.
