BARROW2026 DAILY REVIEW- Wednesday, 15th July, 2026
July 15, 2026
In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the President met with the Assistant Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, or OIC. They discussed The Gambia’s role in the Rohingya case before the International Court of Justice, where our country continues to lead the search for justice on behalf of the Muslim world.
The President also called for stronger support from OIC member countries and discussed practical ways to move the organisation’s work forward.
While in Jeddah, President Barrow also met members of the Gambian community living in Saudi Arabia. They spoke openly about issues affecting Gambians abroad, including passport services and travel arrangements for Hajj and Umrah.
The President assured them that their concerns would be addressed. He also encouraged Gambians overseas to stay connected to their homeland and to contribute to national development whenever they can.
In another important development, The Gambia strengthened cooperation with SESRIC during the OIC Women’s Conference. The partnership will support better research, stronger data collection, and improved policies on women and social development.
Today’s takeaway:
A respected country is one that is heard beyond its borders. By engaging with international partners and listening to Gambians wherever they live, President Barrow is working to strengthen The Gambia’s voice and create more opportunities for its people.
