Creating Opportunities Through Growth
July 16, 2026
The Government has announced that it has exceeded its employment target, reporting that more than 163,000 jobs have been created over the past three years. That means thousands of Gambians now have opportunities to earn a living, support their families, and contribute to the country’s economy.
This progress did not happen overnight. It is the result of continued investment in roads, electricity, agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, and support for the private sector. As these sectors grow, they create more opportunities for young people and working families across the country.
The Government is also continuing to invest in better healthcare services so that quality medical care becomes more accessible to people in every region. These investments are part of a broader effort to improve everyday life for all Gambians.
Today’s takeaway is simple: real progress is measured by the opportunities people have to build better lives. More jobs, stronger public services, and continued investment are helping to move The Gambia in the right direction.
