BARROW 2026 DAILY REVIEW – Tuesday, 14th July 2026
July 14, 2026
Today, we look at the progress being made in expanding electricity across The Gambia under President Adama Barrow.
When President Barrow came into office, about 73 percent of Gambians had access to electricity. Today, that figure has increased to 90 percent. The government is now working to reach 100 percent access by the end of 2026.
This project is expected to connect 719 communities and more than 52,000 households to reliable electricity.
Electricity changes lives. It helps businesses grow, allows children to study at night, improves healthcare, and creates more opportunities for families and communities.
When this target is achieved, The Gambia is expected to become the first ECOWAS country to achieve universal access to electricity.
Today’s message is simple: development is about improving people’s daily lives. Every new community connected to electricity is another step toward a stronger and more prosperous Gambia.
