Yesterday, the President visited NAWEC facilities and later addressed the nation. He acknowledged shortcomings in planning, power generation and maintenance, while committing to improve electricity supply by the end of October.
An additional 24 megawatts is being installed at Brikama Power Station, while a 50-megawatt solar plant is planned for Soma. President Barrow has also established a Presidential Task Force to oversee the response and provide regular public updates.
Gambians deserve reliable electricity. The President has heard the message. The focus now is action and results.
