Over the weekend, President Adama Barrow spoke about the monthly assistance government provides to more than 3,000 caregivers of persons with disabilities.
The gathering also brought together hundreds of Gambians from different backgrounds, including farmers, persons with disabilities and religious groups.
There was a political boost for the President as well. Former presidential aspirant Alieu Jawara announced that he was shelving his own ambition and throwing his support behind Barrow.
It was a weekend that brought together two important things: support for vulnerable Gambians and growing support for President Barrow.
