PRESIDENT BARROW’S BOLD STAND FOR JUSTICE PUTS THE GAMBIA IN THE GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT
November 8, 2026
Now, seven years later, the International Court of Justice is expected to deliver its final judgment on Thursday, November 19, 2026. The ruling will address whether Myanmar violated international law in its treatment of the Rohingya people.
The Barrow government took this important step to seek justice for people who had suffered terrible violence. It showed that even a small country like The Gambia can speak up against injustice and make its voice heard around the world.
The case has brought international attention to our country and highlighted The Gambia’s role in promoting justice.
As we prepare for the presidential election on Saturday, December 5, 2026, Gambians can reflect on this achievement, the government’s wider record and the future of our country.
On December 5, come out and vote. Think about the progress made, the challenges ahead and the future you want for The Gambia. Your vote matters.
