Taking Development to the People

August 7, 2026

Months before the presidential election, the country’s political direction is becoming clearer.

Tomorrow, President Adama Barrow begins a nationwide Development Tour, travelling through the North Bank Region, Central River Region North, Upper River Region, Lower River Region, and West Coast Region. During the tour, he will launch key Connect Gambia Infrastructure Projects aimed at improving roads, connectivity, and economic opportunities for communities across the country.

At the same time, the opposition continues to struggle to build a united front. Coalition talks that once promised a common platform have instead produced disagreements, withdrawals, and competing political ambitions.

The contrast is difficult to ignore. One side is focused on launching development projects and engaging communities. The other is still trying to agree on a common path forward.

With December 5 drawing closer, Gambians will continue to judge leaders not only by what they promise, but by what they deliver.

That is today’s Barrow 2026 Daily Review.
