Interestingly, the statement repeatedly calls Bah’s comments “tribal,” “xenophobic” and “dangerous,” but does not tell Gambians exactly what he said. Why not put his actual words before the public?
If Bah made factual claims, challenge them with facts. If his remarks crossed the line, show us where. Let Gambians hear the comments in context and judge for themselves.
It is equally unfair to turn the remarks of one political figure into the position of an entire government. President Barrow’s record on national unity should be judged by his own words, actions and policies.
There is no place for tribalism or xenophobia in our politics—from government or opposition. But serious accusations require more than labels.
Quote Hamat Bah. Give the context. Challenge the facts where necessary. Then let Gambians decide
