GOVERNMENT ACTS AS POLITICAL MOMENTUM BUILDS

President Adama Barrow’s government is taking urgent steps to address the electricity crisis following public concern over prolonged outages.

An additional 24MW generating unit is being installed at Brikama Power Station, while a 50MW solar project is planned for Soma. A Presidential Task Force will provide regular public updates, with President Barrow committing to significant improvement in electricity supply by the end of October.

Meanwhile, APP-Sobeyaa has confirmed discussions with the NPP and other political groups over possible alliances ahead of the December 5 election. No agreement has been reached, but the talks underline the changing political landscape.

For the NPP, the priorities are clear: deliver on electricity and continue building political momentum.
