FROM ELECTRICITY TO WATER — IMPROVING ESSENTIAL SERVICES
September 16, 2026
NAWEC has launched a €3.2 million Urban Water Network Improvement Project, funded entirely by the utility. It will rehabilitate and expand nearly 60 kilometres of water infrastructure in Bundung, Tallinding, Abuko, Lamin Daranka and Jambur, with the goal of reliable 24-hour supply.
The project is another concrete step under President Adama Barrow’s administration to improve the basic services Gambians depend on every day. For communities that have struggled with low water pressure for years, successful delivery would make a meaningful difference.
From keeping the lights on to getting water flowing, the focus must remain on delivering practical results for Gambians.
