The Sukuta-Jabang Overpass has now reached 90% completion, with the main structural works finished. Work on the BB Bridge at Kotu is also progressing, although it remains at an earlier stage.
President Barrow acknowledged the inconvenience motorists have endured during construction and apologised to those affected. But his message was also clear: these projects are being built to solve long-standing problems and serve the country well into the future.
There is still work to finish, but seeing the President personally checking progress is encouraging.
The roads may cause inconvenience today, but the goal is a better journey tomorrow.
