BARROW2026: KERR FATOU HEADLINE MISREPRESENTS WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS
October 2, 2026
The video shows a few individuals chanting those words. They should not be presented as anything other than a few individuals.
In any large gathering, a handful of people can position themselves along a route and chant whatever they choose. Their presence does not make them representative of the wider crowd around them. A headline should reflect what can actually be established from the footage, rather than create a broader impression unsupported by it.
We respect the media’s responsibility to report criticism and dissent. We equally expect accuracy, context and proportionality.
Barrow2026 therefore calls on Kerr Fatou to correct the headline to accurately state that a few individuals were heard chanting “Barrow down.”
A few people should be reported as a few people — nothing more.
