THOUSANDS WELCOME BARROW AS SALAGI PREPARES FOR PRESIDENTIAL VISIT

October 12, 2026

President Adama Barrow received an enthusiastic welcome on Saturday as he returned to Banjul following the first leg of his Meet the People Tour.

Crowds gathered along the route through Kalagi, Brikama, Busumbala, Lamin and Kanifing to greet the President after ten days of engagements across the provinces.

Meanwhile, the Salagi community spent Sunday cleaning and preparing for Barrow’s scheduled visit to the newly completed Salagi Senior Secondary School on Wednesday, October 14.

The two developments highlight public participation in the President’s tour and growing attention to education and infrastructure.

With the December 5 presidential election approaching, development remains central to the national conversation.
