Beyond the welcomes, the constitutionally mandated Tour is giving Gambians an opportunity to speak directly about their priorities. Communities have acknowledged improvements in areas such as roads, electricity and water, while also raising outstanding needs in healthcare, agriculture and other services.
The President has been visiting development projects and meeting residents as government takes stock of progress and areas where more work remains. The 19-day programme includes 21 general meetings, 24 project-site visits and seven inauguration or handing-over ceremonies.
