Preparing a Generation to Power The Gambia’s Future

A country’s future depends on the investments it makes in its people today.

President Adama Barrow has committed more than GMD 83.8 million to strengthen technical and vocational education across The Gambia. The funding will modernize training institutions, improve equipment, strengthen teaching, and expand skills programmes in areas such as agriculture, engineering, ICT, tourism, and business. It will also support the creation of 75 new start-up businesses each year, helping more young Gambians and women turn skills into jobs and businesses.

At State House, President Barrow also met with leaders of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reaffirming the importance of strong cooperation between government and the private sector. As infrastructure improves and the investment climate strengthens, businesses have greater opportunities to grow and create employment.

The momentum continues tomorrow as The Gambia welcomes the President of Gabon for a State Visit, opening the door to stronger regional cooperation, increased investment, and new opportunities that can benefit both nations.

Today’s message is straightforward: investing in skills, supporting businesses, and strengthening partnerships are all part of building a stronger future for The Gambia.
