MAJOR INVESTMENT DEALS SIGNED AS FIRST LADY MAKES HISTORIC VISIT TO BERENDING

October 29, 2026

President Adama Barrow yesterday presided over the signing of two major agreements worth US$215 million for solar energy expansion and modern waste management.

Meanwhile, First Lady Fatoumata Bah-Barrow received a massive welcome in Berending, Kombo South, in what residents described as a historic first visit by a President or First Lady. Music and traditional dances marked the occasion.

Responding to local women’s concerns, the First Lady addressed their request to repair or replace the malfunctioning borehole serving their vegetable garden. She also called for national unity, rejected tribalism and urged residents to rally behind President Barrow.

In another political development, President Barrow received hundreds of former opposition supporters who joined the National People’s Party at a gathering yesterday, further expanding the party’s ranks ahead of the December 5 election.
