Leadership That Brings People Together

The past few days have reflected President Adama Barrow’s continued focus on diplomacy, strong institutions, and community engagement.

Yesterday, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon concluded a successful State Visit to The Gambia. Hosted by President Adama Barrow, the visit further strengthened the friendship between the two countries and reinforced cooperation in areas of mutual interest. (African Union⁠ )

Earlier, President Barrow presided over the swearing-in of Chief Justice Edrissa M.O. Faal, reaffirming the importance of an independent judiciary, strong democratic institutions, and the rule of law.

Yesterday, the President also visited the new central mosque in Gunjur, where he received a warm welcome from community members and religious leaders. They expressed profound gratitude for his longstanding support for the project, to which he has contributed more than D10 million. His contribution reflects not only support for a place of worship, but also an investment in faith, unity, peace, and the values that keep communities strong.

Meanwhile, the opposition coalition continues to lose momentum. The People’s Alliance Party (PAP) has become the latest party to distance itself from the coalition process, raising fresh questions about the opposition’s ability to unite ahead of the December 5 presidential election.

Taken together, these developments tell a simple story. While President Barrow continues to build partnerships abroad, strengthen national institutions, and remain connected to communities at home, the opposition is still struggling to hold its own coalition together.
