COALITION POLITICS TAKING DIFFERENT PATHS

Coalition 2026 has suffered a setback with the withdrawal of the Gambia Movement for Progress (GMP), led by Professor Sidat Yaffa. GMP cited concerns over the Brikama SSP rally, respect for coalition agreements and collective decision-making.
This comes as several opposition groups continue pursuing separate coalition arrangements.
Meanwhile, the NPP-led Grand Alliance continues adding political partners, most recently Essa Mbye Faal and APP-Sobeyaa.
With December 5 approaching, the political lines are becoming clearer and the alliances are taking shape.
