The deal, which was announced after a meeting at State House on Tuesday, will see the construction of a massive 250-megawatt solar plant and a new fuel storage facility, a move expected to optimize power supply and bring down electricity costs for homes and businesses alike.

In a separate development, there’s a major boost for healthcare in the Central River Region. Vice President Mohammed Jallow officially opened a new Accident and Emergency ward at Bansang General Hospital today.

The unit, built by the Fatoumatta Bah Barrow Foundation, is designed to handle emergencies and save critical time for patients in the area.

Speaking at the event, the VP stressed that this isn’t just a building; it’s a promise that every Gambian deserves quality care, no matter where they live.
